Fethive is the paradise on the earth, painted with colors of tourmaline water and green plants like ancient Telmes it is known as ‘the Country of light’. Large number of night lodging, bays, beautiful yachts and development of tourist business made the area of western Likya the central place of tourism. Fethive is one of small towns of Aegean sea with shadow streets, small squares and different shops stretching along he streets. Fethive is situated at the bottom of Mendos Mountain, at the top of which you can find ruins of ancient town Telmes, and on shore of Mendos gulf.

Just after the port you can find digging of amphitheater. Some parts of the amphitheater were extracted from the earth and are very fascinating for tourists. This theater that seats 4000 people was built at times of Ancient Rome. There are many tombs in the town and over it. The most famous of them is the tomb of the king Amintas which is gouged in the rock and can be seen on the mountainside. It has two pillars of the conic order and three stone benches inside it. There are 16 other ancient tombs. One of the most important of them was founded 400 B.C. and is situated near modern post building. There are ruins of ancient gates at the top of Acropolis hill which were built by the knight Aziz John as historians think. It is said that iron knights tried to conquer the town through these gates. There are ethnographic and architectural halls in the Fethive museum. In the architectural hall you can see 5000 years old exhibitions which were found in diggings in Fethive and its outskirts. In the ethnographic hall you can find exhibitions of local folklore.

Fethive is the town where you can feel beach even on the streets. Wherever you go you will go to shore. If you live in the center of Fethive and you are tired of heat you can catch dolmuse (taxi) and go to the beach Chalis which is in 4 kilometers from the town and then tramp to the beach Kalagezler. Narrow sand beach Chalis limited by the gulf on one side and by road on the other side is 5 kilometers long. Challis is the perfect and the best in the world place for lovers of diving and surfing, and the sunset here considered being the unsurpassed show. There are several nice small and large hotels of different class near the beach. This is a good choice for those who love excursions and want to go far from the center of Fethive. It is easy to do if you have a car, but walking on foot you can enjoy the hill of Ouk Tepe. After first and second beaches of Kalagezler and after the landing stage, go on coming to the right.
